- Wefarm, a provider of an online platform to connect farmers with each other and leverage the power of their community, raised $11M in Series-A plus funding
- The round, which brought total funding to $31m, led by Octopus Ventures with participation from True Ventures, Rabo Frontier Ventures, LocalGlobe, June Fund and AgFunder
- The company also intends to use the funds to expand its SMS service into an online platform
- Led by Founder and CEO Kenny Ewan, Wefarm also provides farmers with a free, AI-driven SMS tool to connect them with each other
- The platform is free for farmers to use, and can accessed online or via SMS. To date, 2.5 million farmers have connected with one another for free
- The company has offices in UK, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya
