Platform Science Raises $115M in Series C Funding

  • Platform Science, a San Diego, CA-based connected vehicle platform, raised $115m in Series C funding
  • The round was led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 with participation from Chimera, as well as existing investors 8VC, Daimler, Prologis, NextPlay, and Four More Capital
  • As part of the funding round, David Boriss, Director at SoftBank Investment Advisers, will join PlatformScience’s Board of Directors
  • PlatformScience provides a transportation technology platform for enterprises to develop, deploy, and manage mobile devices and applications on commercial vehicles
  • The company recently launched Virtual Vehicle®, which was developed in collaboration with Daimler Truck North America
  • Virtual Vehicle is an open OEM platform that enables fleets to access telematics, software solutions, real-time vehicle data, and third-party applications directly from their vehicles.
