Huawei launches F2F2X data infrastructure architecture to help FSI build and manage modern data centres

Huawei launched its new data infrastructure architecture, F2F2X, at the Huawei Intelligent Finance Summit 2023. The architecture aims to address data storage and management challenges faced by the financial services industry (FSI) and offers a reliable data foundation for coping with data proliferation, app growth, and resilience needs. It consists of four main components: Data acceleration+, Data resilience+, Data green+, and Data management+.

Facts

  • F2F2X Architecture: Huawei introduced the F2F2X (Flash-to-Flash-to-Anything) data infrastructure architecture at the Huawei Intelligent Finance Summit 2023. It provides all-flash primary and backup storage, as well as diversified archive storage to address the data needs of the financial services industry.
  • Challenges in Data Infrastructure: Banks face three major challenges in their existing data infrastructure: data proliferation, data storage, performance, and resilience capabilities. The increasing amount of data generated by banks, growing unstructured production data, and rising ransomware attacks are significant concerns.
  • Data Resilience+: Huawei’s F2F2X architecture includes a proprietary machine learning algorithm with a 99.9% detection rate, forming the last line of defense for data resilience. It offers a four-layer storage ransomware protection solution to ensure data safety.
  • Data Green+: The architecture’s high-density design and deduplication and compression ratio technology on backup storage lead to superior energy consumption ratios, meeting the low carbon needs of the industry. The solution provides a system-level energy-saving approach using flash disks.
  • Data Management+: Huawei’s full lifecycle DME (Data Management Engine) significantly improves management efficiency by enabling quick data retrieval, multi-dimensional intelligent analytics of global files, and intelligent tiering and deletion of data.
  • Data Acceleration+: Core technologies like decoupled storage, compute, and multi-controller and multi-active architecture accelerate data processing in financial scale-out core and data warehouse scenarios. The architecture offers all-flash primary storage and backup with 30% higher performance than the industry’s next best.
  • Huawei Intelligent Finance Summit 2023: The launch of the F2F2X architecture was part of the summit held on 7-8 June in Shanghai, China, under the theme “Navigate Change, Shaping Smart Finance TOGETHER.” The summit featured key strategies from Huawei and insights on digital trends for the future of finance.
