  • Jonny Fry’s role is to develop ClearBank’s position in the digital assets market, where the bank currently provides banking infrastructure for regulated firms, including Coinbase. His focus is on enhancing interoperability and security within the digital assets ecosystem.
  • With over 25 years of experience in the finance sector, Fry has held various executive and leadership positions, including at TeamBlockchain, GemCap (an investment advisory service based in Dublin), and Turn (a blockchain-powered reporting platform serving the asset management industry).
  • Fry’s strategy involves building the necessary digital tools and infrastructure for digital asset companies to grow. He sees significant opportunities in the digitization of assets like loyalty programs, equities, funds, and derivatives, particularly for those providing fiat offerings.
  • ClearBank has been making several strategic hires following a £175 million investment in March 2022. This includes Andrew Barker as Chief Revenue Officer, Mark Fairless as Chief Finance Officer, and Spiros Theodossiou, a former PayPal executive, as Chief Product Officer.
  • The company’s parent firm has also appointed four new non-executive directors as part of plans for international expansion.
