Brookfield appoints Ron Kalifa as vice chair and head of financial infrastructure

  • Ron Kalifa, the former CEO of Worldpay, has been appointed as Vice Chair and Head of Financial Infrastructure at Brookfield Asset Management.
  • Kalifa served at Worldpay for 18 years, including a period as CEO from 2002 to 2013 and later as Vice Chair. He played a pivotal role in Worldpay’s transition from private equity ownership to an initial public offering (IPO).
  • Kalifa is known for leading and authoring an independent review of the UK’s fintech strategy, which was published in 2021.
  • He also currently holds positions as the Chair for Network International, a UAE-based payments business, and as a Senior Independent Director on the Court of Directors of the Bank of England.
  • Brookfield Asset Management, with significant investments in financial infrastructure companies valued at around $5 billion, aims to expand its presence in this sector with Kalifa’s appointment.
