Puerto Rico’s Arival Bank names Nishi Gupta as chief compliance officer and general counsel

  • Nishi Gupta appointed as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and General Counsel at Arival Bank, a digital bank in Puerto Rico.
  • Gupta joined Arival Bank in July, coming from Eco, a US-based consumer fintech company, where he was the head of compliance from December 2020 to June 2023.
  • Previously worked at American Express for over a decade as the Vice President of global financial crimes compliance, overseeing areas like sanctions, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering (AML), and Know Your Customer (KYC).
  • Experience also includes serving as in-house counsel for Take-Two Interactive Software and assisting at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
  • Arival Bank, founded in 2018, offers digital banking services to businesses, including multi-currency accounts and international payment capabilities.
  • In January, Bill Papp was appointed as Chief Revenue Officer at Arival Bank to grow the bank’s client portfolio and sales strategy.
