Flutterwave: Secures Two Additional Licenses in Rwanda

  • Flutterwave new Electronic Money Issuer license allows the company to acquire all types of payment instruments in Rwanda
  • Announced that it has received its Electronic Money Issuer and Remittance Licenses from the National Bank of Rwanda
  • With these new licenses,  in addition to being a Payment Service Provider, it can offer money deposit and withdrawal
  • According to Rwanda’s National Institute of Statistics, Micro, MSMEs in Rwanda account for about 97% of businesses
  • That makes MSMEs critical to job creation and the economic growth of the country
  • It will be deploying a range of products in Rwanda, including its cross-border money transfer solution
