ICYMI fintech funding round-up: Backflip, Ansa, Salmon, Firenze and more

  • Backflip: US-based proptech Backflip raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by FirstMark Capital, with participation from existing backers and industry angels. The company offers capital solutions for real estate investment businesses.
  • Ansa: US-based paytech Ansa closed a $14 million Series A round led by Renegade Partners, with participation from other investors. The funding will be used to expand its payment offerings and focus on product development and engineering initiatives.
  • Salmon: Filipino fintech Salmon Group secured a $7 million investment from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Northstar Group. The funds will support the development of new credit offerings and a lifestyle banking product.
  • BRISKPE: Indian cross-border paytech BRISKPE raised $5 million in a seed round supported by PayU. The funding will be used for talent acquisition, product development, and scaling within the MSME sector.
  • Birdwingo: Birdwingo received a €1.2 million investment from Bienville Capital and other investors. The funding will fuel the growth of its app, which enables underage teenagers in the EU to invest in stocks and ETFs.
  • Qromo: Italian start-up Qromo completed a second round of investment totaling almost €1 million, aimed at driving organic growth and creating new digital solutions for catering.
  • Firenze: UK-based wealthtech Firenze raised £750,000 in a pre-seed angel round, with participation from fintech angels, industry executives, and venture capital firms. The funds will be used to grow the workforce and onboard the first wealth managers and platforms.
